Born in the home of Bluegrass, Bo Isaac was raised with music. Growing up in Wheelright, Ky., Bo learned the art of fiddle playing from his grandparents who also exposed him to the great legends of the genre.
“I grew up listening to The Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs,” Bo says. “My grandparents played music all the time in the house and those artists became a part of my everyday life.”
“The longer I played, the more my passion grew,” he says. “I want everyone to remember Bo Isaac for playing great Bluegrass.”
Though he never intended for music to become a full-time career, Bo could not deny the pull he felt toward the Bluegrass music that shaped his childhood memories. Over the years he met and recorded with some of Bluegrass’ finest musicians, including many that make up the band of Rounders who contributed to Dollar, Bo’s latest album.
Bo continues to dedicate his life to the creation and preservation of Bluegrass and the history surrounding the genre. Whether it’s his masterful fiddle and guitar playing or his impassioned vocals, Bo blazes a trail to bring Bluegrass into the future, all due to his passion for the music.
“Bluegrass is more prevalent than many realize,” he says. “It’s the best music on Earth, in my opinion!”
